When Legends Leave Us

Can't say I was ever a huge Michael Jackson fan, but like many, many others, I grew up listening to his music. I watched Charlie's Angels and went to sleep after Johnny Carson's monologue.

Mortality has a way of slapping you in the face sometimes, and this week has been one of those times.

Rest in Peace, Michael, Farrah and Ed.

Last day of 2nd grade

She finished the year with an all A-B Honor Roll certificate for the year. She has greatly improved her reading this year, but it is still the one area she struggles and maintains a B average. But she worked all year to try to be the one with the most AR points and she did it. She came home with this certificate today along with a $25 gift card to Toys R Us! We'll have to make a trip there soon.

I ordered books thru the Scholastic book club all year long and put them back for this summer. We'll be reading each day, and going to the library for more. Next week starts swimming lessons. Summer is officially here. lol

Last Brownie Meeting

Last official Brownie meeting. A trip to the beach in a couple of weeks is being planned as a last hurrah for the girls and their leaders.

1st Place Trophy!

She's been bouncing like Tigger and can't stop smiling and saying "I can't believe I got a trophy!".
She is one happy kid. She got first place in her age group for the Cross-Country Club, with a total of 58 miles! All those early, early mornings of running laps last fall and winter really paid off.
So here's our celebrity with her trophy, as well as a picture of her and her coach.

We ended the evening with awards night at Brownies. More badges and her 1-year pin. Emotional goodbyes as we said farewell to both of her troop leaders, who are moving away this summer.
